I would love that film and have wanted the same thing, especially since while on tour there many years ago, the guides wouldn’t even talk about her or answer questions as I observed her monument from the other side of the Nile.
As I understood it, all the incest was because the royal lineage went through the daughter's, not the father's. Would explain why Hatchepsut was reluctant to turn over the crown to her stepson
Tutankamuhn's wife and half sister Ankhasunamen was fascinating too. When her husband died, she tried to send a letter to the hittites to send her a prince to marry since she "would not marry a servant" that guy was killed and she disappeared soon after. It's a very frustrating story. I'm also very obsessed with Enheduahnna, the Mesopotamian priestess and daughter of sargon the great. Also one of history's first named female writers.
Oh I love to see my queen Hattie getting her flowers 😤 she’s an icon, she’s a legend, she is the moment, cmon now xx
Literally I was reading about the freshly excavated tomb and was like cool cool cool but what about his WIFE???????? 💐💐💐💐💐💐💐💐
The jealousy of you being there taking your own pictures is oozing out of me rn.
Luxor was seriously UNBELIEVABLE (quietly manifesting you get to see it irl ✨)
Love. Thanks❤️

Currently listening to the audiobook, The Woman Who Would Be King about Queen Hathshepsut, so I'm nerding out over this post.
Perfect!!! Would you recommend that book? 📖
If you wanna do a deep deep dive into Egyptian history then yes. I'm just now getting to the part on her rise to power.

Montuhotep. Hatshepsuts hero. So she put her temple next to his.
I think its about time we have a film about her. Enough of Cleopatra (though no one seems to get her right 🤔)

Hopefully more of the same?!
